The Maritime Law offices of Perry and Neblett represent large number domestic and international clients in the acquisition and registration of vessels of all shapes and sizes-tender, toys, yachts, and super yachts.
The managing partner of the firm, Jim Perry, is an internationally recognized authority on yacht transactions and finance. Jim and his transactional team have represented countless buyers and sellers throughout the globe on yacht purchase and sale transactions. From contract to cruising permit, Perry and Neblett provide buyers and sellers with the expertise and practical knowledge necessary to buy and sell a yacht in today's complex (and turbulent) environment.
Generally, the firm starts with a review of the purchase and sale agreement to ensure that the clients interests are protected under the terms and conditions of the agreement. The inspection process usually follows with a survey and sea trial of the vessel. We can recommend a number of surveyors to assist with this process. If the inspection process is acceptable to the parties, the parties move towards a closing on the vessel. Depending upon the status of the parties, the transaction may close at the dock or offshore for tax and duty purposes. Please call for free consultation regarding your questions with vessel documentation and registration, sales tax, use tax, duty, or offshore closings.
